See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it. I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

We have been given the green light to start the search for our second house! It is because of Gods provision, our faithful prayer warriors and support we receive that this is even possible. So the hunt has begun. There are so many broken people needing help and so few places they can go to, in order to begin their healing.
Everything is in place now for us to move forward with the vision God gave us and we know He will be faithful in helping sustain this second house as well. Our goal is to be moving girls in by late summer, but we will wait on the Lord for His timing! We appreciate your prayers this summer that the right house would be found.
Ride for Refuge will soon be here! Time to get your legs in shape during summer and ride/walk with us or support our ride September 30, 2017. If you would like to form your own team or join a team, just click on the Ride for Refuge banner above and get started. Last year was an amazing event and we appreciate all those who took part. We are on track to have more teams and riders than ever before. Our goal is to raise $25,000, so sign up now!
In the Outreach Program from last September to April, a team of women offered a drop in program at The Mustard Seed Shelter. One young woman in particular was affected by this time with our staff and volunteers. She looked forward to each Wednesday night and showed up faithfully. Recently she found out she was pregnant and reached out to NSM for support. She literally had no one else she could call. It would be so sad if someone like her would fall between the cracks in our society. The lost, the forgotten, lonely and scared. We are thankful we could be there for her.
May 1 was a transition time at NSM as Jackie Reimer moved into Follow Care from the Day Program Coordinator. Lenora Wiebe took over her position and we hired Kelly McGregor as a Key Worker/Facilitator. Also, Robyn van den Hoek joined us as a practicum student for a few months. Lots of change but everyone is adjusting well to their new roles.
We have been working closely with the Calgary Foundation and the Community Knowledge Centre over the past couple of months. They helped us write a story that captures what we do. Click on their logo to check out our page and read the story of Abby to find out about the women God brings to us and how He works in their lives!
