At NSM, we love taking our participants out on adventures. We go hiking, camping, skating in the mountains, floating down the river. Hearing the women laugh, seeing them become one with nature, testing their physical limits, and letting the sound of the water calm their spirits without striving to achieve is incredible. These outings are not only fun, but they have lasting physical and cognitive impacts for survivors of trauma and exploitation.
We intentionally introduce these new, exciting, and healthy experiences for survivors to rewire neurons and connect life outside the program with joy, peace, safety, friendship, and fun!
NSM participants often share about how important discovering new passions is for their recovery and how exercise is vital for their healing.
