Housing

"I have not had to worry about where my next meal was coming from. I have a roof over my head. I used to have my shoes as a pillow in case anyone tried to steal them."

Housing Goal: Stability and a safe home

Our Housing Program provides second-stage long-term transitional housing for women exiting sexual exploitation. We have 2 Sparrow Houses located in confidential locations where women can live in community with the support of a live-in volunteer. Each woman is given a furnished room with a key, so they have a safe place to call their own.

We get to live and learn together in a home environment. Within the houses, each woman brings their own gifts, personality, and healing which contribute to a home of safety, growth, and learning. Through day-to-day interactions that come with community living, such as cooking, chores, and watching TV, each woman gets to try new things, learn what they enjoy and how to spend their down time, experience the highs and lows, and just be in their safe space.

While in Sparrow House, participants attend classes in the day program Monday through Friday.
