Christmas Participant Story
Christmas Alumni Story

"Christmas has always been tough for me to get through each year. It’s like I just want it to be ‘over’! When I first came to Next Step and went through Christmas with ‘my family’ here, I couldn’t believe Christmas could be like that. So full of love and I really felt it, you know and so did my kids. My kids heard the Christmas story from the Bible for the very first time. I was in tears watching them listen. Now I have to spend Christmas with my Next Step ‘family’ every year because I want my kids to feel the love I feel!"

Christmas Letter from George
This season where we celebrate the earthly birth of God in the person of Jesus Christ, it is so important to keep in mind that every person, let me repeat that, every person conceived, was created in the image of God, NO exceptions.

In the short 4 months that I've been in my role at NSM, I've witnessed the physical transformation of three women in our program.
Women who have blossomed from vulnerable young women with no hope to empowered, confident women who are ready to take on the world, filled with vision and plans for a bright future. Going from not wanting to get out of bed to getting up early, going on weekend hikes, and climbing mountain peaks with the confidence to walk with their heads held high, that comes from knowing that despite their past, they are created in the image of God.
Bringing women from a place of despair to a place of believing in themselves would not be possible without your help. Thank you for supporting us through prayer, volunteering, and financially. We do not take this responsibility lightly. We are constantly reviewing ways to get the most out of the resources you have entrusted to us. None of this would be possible without each of you being a part of our participants' circle of support.

Thanks to your ongoing generosity and support, we are 81% of the way on our journey towards raising $120,000.00 by the end of the year for women exiting sexual exploitation! Be part of the action in one of the many ways you can give meaningfully with NSM this year!
Prayer Requests

Please pray for the women in NSM sparrow houses. That they would experience the joy of Christ this Christmas season and find freedom and healing. Pray that our staff and volunteers would find moments of rest and newness as 2021 comes to a close. Please stand with us in prayer for the women we will get to serve during our Christmas community dinner. That they would know they are loved and experience Gods goodness.

Lastly, please join us in thanking God for all He has done, with and for, NSM this year and for the provision and faithfulness we continue to experience.

Next Step Ministries honours and acknowledges the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. Next Step Ministries is situated on land adjacent to where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and that the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is Moh’kins’tsis, which we now call the City of Calgary.
