International Women's Day

International Women's Day
This year the International Women's Day theme is #BreakTheBias. The campaign's goal is to create spaces of equality for women and a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. This is especially important to women exiting sexual exploitation. They encounter stereotypes and discrimination as a result of their past. We encourage you to celebrate the women in your life. Be curious about your own bias, and the bias of those around you, extending kindness, love, and grace.
New Work Experience Training Launch

In the spirit of breaking the bias, we are excited to share our latest employment initiative for women survivors of sexual exploitation!

NSM started an 8-week work experience training for the women to learn general business information and then gain hands-on experience in coffee roasting or screen printing.

Survivors often have difficulty finding employment based on stigma and lack of employable skills. This work experience program is designed to increase their confidence and provide opportunity for them to broaden their choices.
"One year ago, I imagined designing and creating my own clothing that brought awareness about the struggle of drug and alcohol addiction. I collaborated with FTS and NSM and made this happen! They began a screen printing business and blessed me with the amazing opportunity to learn the process. Now I can see my design on clothing and continue to develop and grow my business, thanks to God, and these ladies and organizations. It feels so lifegiving!"
