February 2023 at Next Step Ministries

Valentine's Day is a time to celebrate love, and at NSM, we are dedicated to showing love and care to women impacted by sexual exploitation. Showing survivors love and care is essential in their healing process. That's why we are focusing on pampering and showering love on the survivors in our programs this Valentine's Day. This month, we showed survivors a little more love with community events, meals, gifts, and pampering activities! Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to find out more details.
You can also show survivors a little more love this month by shopping For the Sparrows products for your loved ones this Valentine's Day.

New cards have been released for this very occasion! Cards are printed in Calgary by women survivors of sexual exploitation on 100% recycled cotton paper made in India.

NSM Memories

We are collecting special memories, notes, and pictures to give to our founders, Phil and Jackie Reimer and Becky Bradbury. They have all transitioned out from Next Step Ministries, but their legacy lives on every day in our ministry as we walk alongside women impacted by sexual exploitation. We are so thankful for their endless love and support for the ministry they built and want them to know how great their impact has been.

We need your kind words and old photos to compile memory books as a keepsake of their time here. The books will be presented to them at a special celebration in spring 2023 (more details to come!).

Next Step Ministries honours and acknowledges the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations). The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III. Next Step Ministries is situated on land adjacent to where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and that the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is Moh’kins’tsis, which we now call the City of Calgary.
